Thanksgiving in Houston

This past Wednesday, Andrew and I headed down to Houston for Thanksgiving. We left Tulsa at 11 a.m. and we arrived nine hours and fifteen minutes later. Needless to say, the drive sucked. We were in bumper to bumper traffic all the way down to Houston. Here is what the traffic looked like...

Once we finally arrived, we had a great time in Houston. It was nice to relax, catch up with my Mom and Dad, as well as to hang out with my sister, Gemma, and Maggie, the Beagle.

While we were in town, we didn't really do too much. We mainly ate! Andrew and I love to get our Jack In The Box fix (we ate there twice), as well as get our Mexican fix while we are in town. Our favorite mexican restaurants are Pappasitos and Gringo's.  Without a doubt, Gringo's is probably the best mexican restaurant around. It has the best salsa, green sauce, chips, tortillas and fajitas. Yum :). If only there was one in Dallas.

In addition to eating, we made sure that we took at look at some of our favorite stores. That is one of the best things about a bigger city...the selection of stores and restaurants. While we were at the mall, we came across a lego store and had to share some photos.

How cool is that?!?! You can get a bucket of legos! I was amazed at this store.

Yesterday, we made the trip back up to Tulsa. The traffic was much more cooperable this time around. We had an early start at 7:30 a.m., but we were able to make it back by 4 p.m. This gave us time to unpack, do laundry, eat, do some grocery shopping and watch one of our DVR-ed shows. Even though it was nice to visit my family in Houston, it was nice to be back home as well. You just can't beat your own bed and pillows.
