54. Find the Perfect Pair of Running Shoes

Yesterday, I caved and bought my first real pair of running shoes, Asics 2140. I ran four miles in them this evening and it's a night and day difference between my new and old shoes. The cushion is amazing and they are very light, which is surprising. It looks like I'm set to run in my half-marathon on May 16, which I signed up for on Saturday. I'm sure if that deserves a woohoo or an eek!

WANTED: Pepsi Throwback and/or Mountain Dew Throwback

Andrew is looking for two new drinks by Pepsi called Pepsi Throwback and Mountain Dew Throwback. The "throwback" versions of these sodas are made with natural sugar and should be available in 20 oz. bottles and/or 12 pack of cans. Unfortunately, the drinks are only available from April 20 - June 13. If you happen to find a Pepsi Throwback and/or Mountain Dew Throwback, please let me know. Andrew would greatly appreciate your help.

Thanks for your cooperation.

Hump Day Dinner #55: Full Moon Cafe

Full Moon Cafe
1525 East 15 Street
Tulsa, OK  74120

On Wednesday, we are at the famous Full Moon Cafe on Cherry Street and it was great. The food was good and it was very reasonably priced. I had the caesar salad and Andrew had the chicken fingers and we didn't have any complaints. I wasn't too fond of the white queso though. If you have a chance to go, try their tortilla soup, it's supposed to be fantastic and it's one of their signature dishes.

Wednesday evening was perfect, so we were able to sit out on the patio, which is home to the outdoor bar. We sat out there for hours enjoying the weather, music and each other's company. If you have a chance to head out to Cherry Street this spring/summer, check out the Full Moon Cafe and take advantage of their outdoor patio. It's a great place to hangout!

It's Too Good To Be True

Have you guys heard of Shoe Dazzle? Supposedly, it's Kim Kardashian's new business venture. I found the website on People.com last night and thought I would share. From looking at the website, they say they are the "World's Premier Shoe Society." You pay $39/month and you are sent a pair of personalized recommended shoes from their stylists every month. How do they know your style? Well, before you sign up, you take a small quiz that asks you a series of questions to see what your style is, as well as your preference in shoes. I still don't know what to think about it all. It seems too good to be true. I'm curious to know if you get to keep the shoes or if you have to return them.

Let me know if you give it a try.

**Update: I've just read their FAQs and it looks like you get to keep the shoes each month. Hmmm...it still sounds too good to be true.

Ooh, La, La

So, Andrew and I came across this house several weeks ago and I just LOVED the fireplace, the living room, the colors and the kitchen wasn't bad as well. I want a fireplace like this in the house that we buy and the kitchen is nice and spacious. I love the island in the kitchen. The black cabinets aren't too bad, but I would prefer dark brown. Just thought I would share. Here are some pics...

Spring Flowers

April showers bring spring flowers! This weekend, we gave our flower bed a facelift. Here is what our flower bed looked like before it's makeover...

My materials

Then for less than $20, we got this...

Isn't it pretty?? Now, we just have to wait for the flowers to grow. I love impatients in this area because they grow like crazy. I will keep you updated on their progress.

StyleMark Designs: Update

A decision on a "look and feel" for StyleMark Designs has been made and I'm currently working with a designer to finalize the materials. Be sure to watch for the unveiling of the logo in the next couple of days. Thanks to everyone for their input. I really appreciated your help!

Friendly Visitors...

After my pilates class on Thursday, I was walking to my car and found these visitors in the parking lot. I think they were lost. I'm not sure where they came from, since my gym is at 101st and Sheridan, but they made me laugh. So, I thought I would share.

Enjoy!

So Excited!

On Wednesday, Jason Mraz is playing at the Spirit Bank Event Center in South Tulsa/Bixby. So, for Hump Day Dinner next week, we are eating at a restaurant close to the event center and heading to the concert afterwards. I'm so excited! Jason Mraz....here we come!

Which One Do You Prefer?

StyleMark Designs is needing a "look and feel" and I have found these two possibilities online. Which one do you prefer?

Teal Hydrangeas:

Pink Poppies:

Also, I'm thinking that if I go with either of these options I will most likely change the colors. Do you have any suggestions?

I'm all ears.

Congratulations Jenn and Nick!

It's official, Jenn and Nick have tied the knot! After a day of pampering with the girls, Jenn said "I do" to Nick last night at Sharp Chapel. The ceremony was beautiful and everything went off with a hitch. The only downfall to the day was the weather. It rained off and on throughout the entire day, but that didn't stop us all from having fun. (Thankfully it never rained when we were moving from location to location.) Here are some pictures from the day's preparations and the ceremony.

We started the day at Fiagro's Salon (81st and Lewis), where Larry did all of our hair. We all looked like lions at first. No worries...our hair ended up looking beautiful in the end.

Then, it was off to Bobbi Brown for our makeup.

Finally, it was off to the church to get ready.

The unique programs.

Once Jenn and Nick were announced as husband and wife, it was off to the reception. The reception took place at Clary Fields Golf Course and it was truly amazing. The only thing you could say when you walked into the event center was "Wow!" I've never seen a reception before that has intertwined the bride and groom's heritages together so well. It was a direct representation of Jenn and Nick. Here are some pictures of the evening.

The amazing centerpieces.

Lindsay caught the bouquet!! Let's hope she will be planning her wedding very soon :).

Another great thing about the wedding was the food! It was probably the best food that Andrew and I have even eaten at a reception. Chicken and beef fajitas with all of the fixin's, plus rice and chips, salsa, queso, guac etc. were served to the guest. It was all delicious. (Thanks Jenn for ordering chicken.) From now on, I think mexican food should be mandatory at all weddings. :).

Here are some pictures of us having fun.

In Nick's car with a walrus on top, but they are just married! (Editor's Note: Unfortunately, the walrus didn't make it to the hotel. He was found stranded on the side of the road by the toll gate, which was about two minutes from the reception site. RIP Mr. Walrus)

The evening was a blast. It was filled with great food, friends, music and fun! We all were honored to be apart of Jenn and Nick's big day. Congratulations to Nick and Jenn! We love you guys.

Here's to love, laughter and a happily ever after!
