Hump Day Dinners #46-#51

Currently, we are on week 53, but wanted to recap the restaurants we have visited over the past five weeks.

46. Billy Sims BBQ: The food is great, but the portions are small and the side choices are kind of weak. We went to the one in the Farm Shopping Center and had to eat in the catering building because they wouldn't let us move the tables in the main building. As a result, the service was awful and our food was cold. I'm not sure if I would eat at the Billy Sims restaurant again, but I would definitely recommend their food for a catered event.

47. Ti Amo's: This is a fairly nice italian restaurant in Tulsa, so no pizzas. The food is pretty good and is moderately priced. We would definitely recommend it.

48. The White Lion: This is Tulsa's only english pub/restaurant. I questioned it's authenticity at first, but it's very authentic. The owner comes from Liverpool. The restaurant/pub has lots of nooks and crannies, so it's a fairly intimate setting. The food is good and seemed to be home made. You will get your british favorites like fish and chips (Andrew didn't really like the fish...it was soggy), shepherds pie, pasties, bangers and mash, etc. It's fairly inexpensive for what you receive, but just warned that the portions are smaller than american sized portions. Even though the portions are small, it's enough food to fill you up. It would recommend it, especially if you haven't been to England.

49. SoChey: SoChey is a small, chic bistro downtown. It's right around the corner from the BOK Center and is actually in the basement of an office building. The food is fairly good, but the service is slow. I wouldn't eat here if you are in a rush. You will receive everything from salads, sandwiches, flatbread pizzas to pastas, steaks and chicken dishes. So, it has everything.

50. Savastano's Pizza: Andrew and I love this place! It used to be a hole in the wall pizzeria on the outskirts of Bixby, but it has recently moved and is now a three story establishment. If you have eaten in their old building, you would never recognize it now. It's very impressive. Even though the building has changed, their staff has tripled and the restaurant looks like something from Chicago or New York, the food hasn't changed one bit...only they have expanded their menu. You can still get the famous Savastano's pizza pies. If you are in South Tulsa, check out the new Savastano's because you won't be disappointed.

51. Flying Fish Sushi: This is a new sushi place at 111th and Memorial....right next to the Super Wal-Mart. I obviously didn't eat anything, but it has had rave reviews in the Tulsa World and the other members of the Hump Day Dinner crew really enjoyed it. The food presentation is beautiful, the food seemed to be fairly inexpensive and the service is great.
